However, not long after receiving my order, there was a widespread recall of friarielli across Italy and the UK due to concerns about botulism. Naturally, this raised significant concerns for me as a customer. Given the seriousness of the issue, I expected proactive communication from Mangia e Bevi to offer reassurance or guidance. Instead, I had to reach out myself and received only a one-line reply stating there were no issues with the product I had purchased. This response felt inadequate given the health risks involved. Customer service is extremely important to me - whether I’m shopping online or in store - and I would have appreciated a more thoughtful and reassuring approach. As a minimum, I expected the option to return the product for a full refund if I felt uncomfortable consuming it. I also believe it would have been helpful to see a statement on the Mangia e Bevi website acknowledging the recall and providing clarity on whether their products were affected. This would have gone a long way in addressing customer concerns. Especially since the recalled brand is produced very close to the one I purchased from Mangia e Bevi, a more transparent and proactive response would have been appropriate.
